Rochester Cares is our annual spring cleanup on April 18, 2026. Volunteers gather downtown for coffee and donuts, then spread mulch, rake, and clear debris to get downtown Rochester ready for summer - followed by a thank-you meal from local restaurants.
Spring is here, and it’s time for Rochester Cares - our annual community cleanup that brings volunteers together to prepare downtown for the summer season.
Arrive early to enjoy coffee and donuts and connect with fellow community members before heading out to assigned cleanup areas. Bring your gloves, rakes, and shovels and help us tackle projects throughout downtown. The Rochester Department of Public Works delivers mulch for spreading, and volunteers also help remove trash and debris.
Afterward, stick around: local downtown restaurants generously provide food as a thank-you for your time and hard work.
It’s a great chance to give back, spend a morning outdoors, and make a visible difference downtown. Bring a friend, bring the kids, and help us get the job done - together.

What should I bring to Rochester Cares?
